Sharon grew up in Abbotsford attending Trinity United and at 14 years of age, began conducting the children’s choir, moving on to the youth choir and senior choir. After six years she left for Toronto, where, for the next 13 years was a working studio singer and musician. Sharon was a backup singer for the 1994 CMA’s in Calgary (Canadian Music Awards). She also toured with several regional bands throughout Eastern Canada and the States.
In the late 80s/early 90s Sharon became heavily involved with the Contemporary Christian music scene in both writing and performing across Canada and the States, releasing an album in North America that received airplay and favourable reviews. Returning to Vancouver in 1995 she performed in musical theatre before getting married and having two children. She taught piano and voice and for two years directed the choir at Colebrook United. Then she joined Cloverdale United where she was the Music Director for 12 years. Needing a break, she resigned in August 2020.
Faith has always been the centre of Sharon’s existence and catalyst for her choices… hearing God in and worshipping through music. She has always loved bringing music alive for others to hear.
We welcome Sharon to United Churches of Langley and look forward to a partnership of making wonderful music!
