This week is the fourth Sunday in Lent, time to take a breather from the traditional theme of repentance. This Sunday is Laeterte Sunday, a day to find the joy in life. We’re reading the parable of the “prodigal”, which really means the “extravagant one”, who offers generous love to all, despite our shortcomings. In the midst of the sorrow and violence in the world, we are asked to consider the goodness of God and the gifts that we receive and share.
