Rejoice always. Pray continually. Give thanks in every situation. That sure does seem like a lot to ask, especially when we're going through some rough patches. Maybe it's the job you're not really loving, or the bills that are piling up, or the relationships in need of repair.
It's hard to practice gratitude when we don't feel like our best selves or when it just doesn't feel like there's much to be thankful for. But what are those things for which you can say, "thank you"? Maybe it's that you were able to wake up another day. Or that you were able to catch the bus on time. Or that at the end of the day, you have a roof over your head, however modest it may be.
