After a very well executed and attended Food & Friends event at our Murrayville site in November, a partnership was struck between Langley Meals on Wheels and United Churches of Langley.  This year (2026), Food and Friends will be held at our church every fourth week of the month, taking a summer break.

The Langley Meals on Wheels' Food and Friends 55+ events are a cornerstone of their community engagement. Set in various locations in Langley, Food and Friends provides a welcoming environment for seniors to come together, enjoy a delicious meal, and connect with friends old and new. These events are designed to offer not just nourishment, but also a sense of belonging and camaraderie.

What to Expect:

  • ​Nutritious Meals: Enjoy a variety of healthy, homemade dishes prepared with care. 
  • Social Interaction: Meet new people, catch up with friends, and enjoy lively conversations.
  • Activities or Presentations: Participate in fun activities and listen to guest speakers or performers.
  • Support: Access information and resources that can help enhance your quality of life.

This new offering at United Churches of Langley provides an opportunity for seniors to connect in a welcoming environment, enjoy a delicious lunch, and hear a speaker present on a topic of interest to them. Programs like this strive to reduce isolation, build community, and ensure seniors have access to helpful information and supports.

The cost for lunch is $8, paid by cash at the door, and registration is required at 604-533-1679 or foodandfriends@lmow.ca.
