Today we hear the story of Naaman, a Syrian general with a skin problem. He is sent to Israel for a cure, and is surprised by the solution. Why make things simple when you can make them complicated?

During the season of Pentecost, Year C in the lectionary, the Hebrew Scriptures offer a variety of passages from the prophets. In the summer months, many are from the shorter books, telling the stories of Elijah, Elisha, Amos and Hosea. It’s a delightful smorgasbord of faith – come, taste and see that the Lord is good!
