We are a congregation of The United Church of Canada,
Weaving a Faith that Matters… may the Spirit stir us on!
We acknowledge with gratitude that we live and gather on the unceded and ancestral lands of the q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), Máthxwi (Matsqui), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), and Se’mya’me (Semiahmoo) peoples. We honour their faithful stewardship of the land and seek to walk in the Spirit of reconciliation.
Today, we continue our exploration of “Call”. The Biblical account in Matthew describes Jesus’ actions as he finds a place to begin his ministry in Galilee by inviting ordinary fishermen to leave the comforts of home and follow him on his mission – to serve God, each in their own special way. Interwoven in worship will be some thoughts and prayers from the Week of Christian Unity, and the expression of faith found in the New Creed of our church. We may want to consider our own call: what are the challenges of being a Christian in today’s world? What do we leave behind to follow the way of Christ? What are the joys, the fears, the support and companionship that we meet on the road?
